Bio

 

A native of Tulsa, Okla. Ms. Owen studied art at the University of Tulsa and University of Texas at Arlington as well as The Belles Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and studied a semester in Italy. In addition, she has traveled extensively in Central and South America and Europe, adding to her studies.

 

Ms. Owen’s work, through the medium of oils, pastels, or encaustics, is characterized by her use of brilliant color, blending technique, and rich textural surfaces. Her subjects range from architectural to sheer whimsy.

 

Ms. Owen has had several one-woman shows in Tulsa, and group shows in Ft. Worth. She taught art at Myers School of Fine Arts in Tulsa for eight years as well as drawing at Cook Children’s Hospital Teen Dialysis unit.

 

Ms. Owen’s work has been shown in the David Keene Gallery, San Antonio, Texas and the Edmond Craig Gallery, Ft. Worth, Texas. Her work is currently being handled by the M.A. Doran Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She has works in private and corporate collections throughout the world.
